On April 13, the Heart of Breast Cancer Research event was held at the San Francisco residence of Gary and Laura Lauder in memory of Evelyn Lauder. A total of $824,000 was raised for researchers based at institutions in the Bay area. In addition to warm speeches from her family, other highlights included and a musical performance by BCRF Scientific Director Larry Norton, MD (Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center) and Laura Esserman, MD, MBA (University of California, San Francisco).
